Our Story

For almost 200 years Stugdale Farm has been the home of the Rycroft family who, for 3 generations have farmed the land of North Yorkshire.

Located between Malton and York off the A64, Croft Logs was established in 2019 by farmer
Jonathan Rycroft.  Like many farmers, Jonathon was keen to diversify farm production into other areas.  Jonathan is passionate about looking after the environment and wanted this to be reflected in the diversification of the farm.  Air pollution is one of the biggest risks to public health and the environment.  Living in rural North Yorkshire, burning wood is a primary fuel for many people to keep their homes warm. With the cost of living crisis seeing a ‘boom’ in the purchase of wood burning stoves and the government strengthening regulations on this, Jonathan wanted to develop a solution that enabled people to heat their homes in a safe, affordable and sustainable way that had less impact on the quality of air.  Croft Logs was born and has been developing 100% natural wood briquettes ever since.

Our personal attention to detail means that you can rest assured every pack contains only the best briquettes and that your order will be handled personally by a member of the Rycroft family.

You will have to go a long way to find a better wood briquette.
